Use the “drawing umbrella” to shield your view. 2. Commit to moving your hand slowly. 3. Commit to keeping your pencil/pen tip on the paper. Try not to lift it! 4. Continuous contour line drawing of A room
Directions:
Step 1: Choose a comfortable spot in your house. Maybe it's your bedroom or the kitchen table or on the couch in the living room. You choose! Turn on some music or a podcast to keep you company as you draw.
Step 2: Have a piece of drawing paper(ideally your sketchbook) and a pen (any color) to use for this assignment. Also recommended is to put your drawing paper on a firm surface so you have more support for your drawing.
Step 3: Think about your frame. What will be included in your drawing? You don't have to draw an ENTIRE ROOM. Focus on a wall or a corner. Choose a wall or a corner that has some interesting shapes.
Step 4: Remember, you are aiming to use CONTINUOUS LINE, meaning you are trying to keep your pen touching the paper. Like in the tutorial, I recommend starting from the left and drawing to the right or vice versa, but this will likely support your eye/hand recording what you see in a continuous contour line.
Step 5: Aim to draw for 30 focused minutes. Put some music or a podcast on to keep you company.
