What is a Sketchnote?
"Sketchnotes are purposeful doodling while listening to something interesting. Sketchnotes don't require high drawing skills, but do require a skill to visually synthesize and summarize via shapes, connectors, and text. Sketchnotes are as much a method of note taking as they are a form of creative expression."

For every documentary we watch together in class, you will be required to document the big ideas from the film onto paper using a variety of note taking techniques.
Why sketchnotes?
There are so many reasons to sketchnote, so let me name just a few:

You will create 2 sets of notes during class today: a rough version while watching the video, and then a more polished version on printer paper
First, watch 'What is Sketchnoting?' video

1. Note #1: Initial run of notes using prompts below to help organize your thoughts as you watch 'The Case for Conceptual Art'. Let this be rough and messy.
2. Note #2: Final sketchnote with a chosen sketchnote structure
Choose a structure to use for this final sketchnote on Conceptual Art.
Use at least 2 other colors, other than blue or black to help organize the information on your sheet.

Take photos of both your rough initial sketchnotes sheet AND your completed practice sketchnotes page on conceptual art and add it here for assignment submission by 3:30 pm 2/21

- Write down 3 artworks highlighted in the video that exemplify conceptual art. Add title, media and purpose of the artwork.
