Project option 1: Still life photography -5 finalized/edited photos
Check out this link: Examples of Still Life Photography
For this assignment, you will commit to shooting a still life composition EVERY WEEK DAY of your spring break week, that's 5 different compositions and 5 different photos.
For example, 1 day, you could shoot a photo of the shoes by the front door, the next day, it could be spices near the stove, the next day it could be a pile of recycling to throw out, the next it could be dirty laundry next to a neat folded pile of laundry and so on. I encourage you all to think of conceptual unity when you take your photos.
LIGHTING and COMPOSITION are the most important things to pay attention to here. Think of where your horizon line is, and where the natural light source is coming from.
Ultimately, this photo series is an homage to home and the objects we surround ourselves with.

Project OPTION 2: ISOLATION PORTRAITS -10 finalized/edited photos
Check out these links:
You should aim to take 10 portrait photos of 10 people you care about, and you must act as an art director and ask them to pose a certain way for you. Do you want them to look away and look directly at you?
As always, think about LIGHTING when you are directing this person and think about LIGHTING on your laptop.
- Isolation portraits of the faces of quarantine
- Photographing social distancing
- Humans of NY instagram

Project Option 3-Faceless Portraits- 5 finalized/edited photos
Check out these links: There’s a story behind every faceless portrait. It lures you in with bits and pieces that make up the whole. These images, when done well, connects the viewer with the photographer as they create short stories from imagery. When we can see ourselves in someone else’s photograph, we’re drawn to feel the emotion of an image.
In this assignment, you may use yourself as the model (self-portrait) or people in your family you are spending time with in the same home. Obviously, we are social distancing so you will need to work with the models you have around you.
Think about COMPOSITION and LIGHTING and POINT OF VIEW. If using yourself as the model, you will need to spend time framing your composition and also using the timer function on your phones to take photos. If you have a portrait mode function on your phone, you will want to try that out.

PROJECt OPTION 4-EMPTY PLACES-Landscape/Street Photography
-5 finalized/edited photos
Check out these links:
If you are interested to do so, and of course, if it is a safe option for you to venture out, take photos of areas that are usually populated and are now empty due to the social distancing measures the state is now enforcing.
It's eerie to see places that are usually bustling with people suddenly emptied out. Think about places around your neighborhood that you can walk to, and try to do this at different times of day as the light will shift.
For this challenge you want to work with LEADING LINES and changing up your POINT OF VIEW.
